《文学与跨文化研究（二）：价值观、身份认同与对话》由德国拜罗伊特大学荣休教授Michael Steppat和上外跨文化研究中心主任顾力行联合主编。本书是上海外语教育出版社“跨文化研究”系列丛书的第9辑。书中共收录13篇代表性文章，分别侧重文学价值建构的比较分析和人口迁移视角，从价值观、身份认同、对话等不同角度探讨文学与跨文化研究主题。

上外跨文化研究中心（SISU International Institute）成立于2006年，是国内较早成立的跨文化研究专业学术机构，在国内外具有重要的学术影响力。中心拥有一支国际化的研究团队，以探究不同文化群体之间交流互动规律为主要学术追求，以促进人文交流与国际理解为现实关照，重点发展跨文化交际、跨文化传播、跨文化教育和跨文化心理四大主题的基础研究与应用实践，积极推动不同学科的跨文化研究，促进国内外跨文化学术交流与合作。近年来，中心团队开发了“跨文化交际”国际慕课，编写并出版了“跨文化研究”系列丛书及《大学跨文化英语综合教程》系列教材。

在跨文化研究与不同学科交汇的界面研究中，比较文学与跨文化研究备受瞩目。比较文学与跨文化研究是外国语言文学学科五大分支之一，既是上外外语学科知识体系建构的内容，也是上外外语学科人才培养的学术方向之一。2016年，上外成功申请并设立“比较文学与跨文化研究”博士点。

章节概览
Section One：Comparative Analyses of Literary Value Constructions
Leading on from the Concepts section of , the first section in this book offers a consideration of value notions for the coming about of a world literature, as well as comparative analyses of honor cultures and face cultures and of cultural perceptions in the literary negotiation of violence associated with experiences of colonialism.
■ In our first chapter, Zhang Longxi points out that a canon embodies and transmits values that are basic for any particular cultural tradition, and is hence significant for a particular community.
■ In a comparative perspective, in Chapter 2 Sun Yan and Mine Krause inquire into the constructions of honor and shame in honor cultures and face cultures, with instructive literary instances.
■ Susan Arndt in Chapter 3 points out that late-16th- to mid-20th-century literature in English occasionally operated as a dream factory of colonialist visions, but featured important critical writings that challenged Maafa, colonialism, and the related spiral of violence from perspectives of alternative values.
■ Then, in Chapter 4 Li Mengyu discusses the sexual ethics and corresponding value orientation in works by Mo Yan and William Faulkner, both Nobel Prize winners.
■ This analysis enables an illuminating thematic focus on the complexities and pitfalls of East-West translation, as Li Mengyu in Chapter 5 extends the above to a critical study of the prevalent translation of Mo Yan's widely-discussed novel.
■Zhang Jiasheng in Chapter 6 studies the descriptions of female images and nationhood construction in The New Year Sacrifice by Lu Xun and Water Them Geraniums by Henry Lawson, classic writers in China and Australia respectively.
■ In Chapter 7 Sun Yan calls our attention to Netherland diplomat Robert Hans Van Gulik's (1910—1967) detective stories figuring Judge Dee (Di Renjie), a famed judge in the Tang dynasty.
Section Two：Perspectives on Migration
The second section devotes attention to various literary representations of the experience of migration.
■ Chapter 8 calls attention to the fact that a number of writers including Khaled Hosseini, Zülfü Livaneli, Parinoush Saniee, Leila Aboulela, and Elif Shafak in their novels describe how a patriarchal, traditional understanding of honor codes can lead to serious violations of the female body and soul.
■ Chapter 9 is designed as a remembrance of the renowned Indian-born American writer Bharati Mukherjee.
■ Patrick Oloko in Chapter 10 analyzes a depiction of the quintessential outsider and outcast, anonymous to society, but existing there in so as to challenge the social order.
■ A close investigation of the interconnected relationship between writing, memory, and trauma is the topic of Chapter 11.
■ In Chapter 12, Shen Weiwei studies Japanese-American writer Cynthia Kadohata's representation of hardship in the formation of identity and value-choosing, especially in the novel The Floating World.
■ In Chapter 13, Michael Steppat and Yang Liu explore the usefulness of Bernhard Waldenfels’s phenomenology of the stranger or alien, along with “the question of the other.”

德国明斯特大学博士，富布赖特研究学者，曾任德国拜罗伊特大学（University of Bayreuth）英语文学系主任、教授，并于2015年荣休。德国国家卓越战略研究中心的当选成员，担任俄罗斯联邦高等教育和科学部教授的荣誉职位，曾任上海外国语大学定期客座教授，以及大连外国语大学、莫斯科城市大学的客座教授。著有《美国主义：异类、排斥、交流》（卡尔•温特，海德堡）、《书写身份：美国文学中民族身份的构建》，等等。
■ 顾力行（Steve J. Kulich）
德国洪堡大学博士，上海外国语大学杰出教授，上外跨文化研究中心执行主任，国际跨文化研究学会（IAIR）会长（2017—2021）、主席团成员。上海外国语大学211岗位特聘教授（2010—2012），上海外语教育出版社“跨文化研究”系列丛书主编。
