SSE Weekly Colloquium | 理工学院系列研讨会邀请

The School of Science and Engineering (SSE) is committed to creating a platform for students and faculty members to exchange ideas and explore cutting-edge research developments in various fields of science and engineering. Starting from 2021 fall, SSE will organize the "Weekly Colloquium" series of seminars every Friday. Each week, SSE will invite our faculty members and distinguished guest speakers from outside the University to conduct academic seminars.

All students and faculty members are invited to join the weekly colloquium!

Abstract

Airdrops, a distinctive business model in the blockchain-driven Web3 community, harness the transparency of on-chain data to incentivize capital and influence distribution. Yet, the presence of airdrop hunters has raised questions about their effectiveness. In this talk, we first introduce a data-driven role taxonomy methodology to understand community members and airdrop effectiveness. Through a case study centered on ParaSwap, the pioneer of threshold differential airdrops, we find that users who receive more rewards tend to engage positively, while we also identify arbitrage patterns and highlight flaws in current detection methods. Building upon these observations, we present ARTEMIS, an optimized graph neural network system specifically developed to identify airdrop hunters within NFT transactions. Evaluated on decentralized exchange Blur’s data, ARTEMIS significantly outperforms baselines in pinpointing hunters. This computational solution holds broad potential for blockchain anomaly detection in the emergent Web3 landscape.
