Over-the-Air Computing for Wireless Data Aggregation in B5G/6G Networks

研讨会摘要

Over-the-air Computing (AirComp) is becoming a new task-oriented solution for wireless data aggregation (WDA) by seamlessly integrating communication and computation, which is expected to have abundant applications such as distributed sensing, learning, and control. This talk will introduce the basic principles and advanced resource allocation techniques on AirComp, present its applications in federated edge learning, and discuss promising research opportunities.

讲者信息

Jie Xu received the B.E. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Science and Technology of China. He was a Research Fellow with the National University of Singapore, a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with the Singapore University of Technology and Design, and a Professor with the Guangdong University of Technology, China. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, China. His research interests include wireless communications, edge computing and intelligence, and integrated sensing and communication (ISAC). He was a recipient of the 2017 IEEE Signal Processing Society Young Author Best Paper Award, the IEEE/CIC ICCC 2019 Best Paper Award, the 2019 IEEE Communications Society Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award, and the 2019 Wireless Communications Technical Committee Outstanding Young Researcher Award. He is the Symposium Co-Chair of the IEEE GLOBECOM 2019 Wireless Communications Symposium, the workshop cochair of several IEEE ICC and GLOBECOM workshops, the Tutorial Co-Chair of the IEEE/CIC ICCC 2019, and the Vice Co-chair of the IEEE Emerging Technology Initiative (ETI) on ISAC. He served or is serving as an Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Communications and IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, and a Guest Editor of the IEEE Wireless Communications and IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications.

The School of Science and Engineering is committed to creating a platform for students and faculty members to exchange ideas and explore cutting-edge research developments in various fields of science and engineering. Starting from 2021 fall, SSE will organize the "Weekly Colloquium" series of seminars every Friday from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in TD102. Each week, SSE will invite our faculty members and distinguished guest speakers from outside the University to conduct academic seminars.  All students and faculty members are invited to join the weekly colloquium!
